By Feline Knapp
Feline Knapp received the Faculty of Design’s award for the Master’s program in Design for her project "Hidden Values," developed within the field of interior architecture. Because every year, people and communities demolish countless buildings, often without taking into account the "embodied energy", i.e., the energy footprint of a building. Likewise, the “golden energy” and thus the history, design and memories that a building carries within it are usually overlooked. The "Hidden Values" project makes these concealed values visible through an interactive exhibition and presents a digital tool that enables simple calculations, clearly demonstrating the value of preserving existing buildings. The laudatory speech was delivered by her examiners, Prof. Günter Weber and Prof. Patrick Pütz.
