Perpetuum mobile: Utopie and Dystopie in the context of the infinite
A commendation was awarded for the Bachelor’s thesis ‘Perpetuum mobile. Utopia and Dystopia in the Context of the Infinite’ by Elias Körbel: ‘What does the invention of the perpetual motion machine mean for humanity?’ Paul Scheerbart explored this question as early as 1908. Building on his writings, the work reinterprets this theme in the form of a spatial installation. Viewers are guided into the infinity of a perpetual motion machine. Through the interplay of light and space, the installation offers a dystopian-utopian experience that sends the viewer’s imagination on a mental journey. Dipl.-Ing.
