Florian Gutnoff: Breaking the Silence! – a design perspective on the prevention of sexualized violence in the Scouting movement
To promote the prevention of sexualized violence among scouts, Florian Gutnoff from the field of Advertising Design wants to increase their ability to talk about this topic. A new symbol, based on an existing emblem, represents the call to "Break the Silence!" Affected individuals can visibly mark a successful intervention in an incident with a pin, thus encouraging other affected individuals to take the same path. Accompanying materials and a series of posters raise awareness and provide confidence in how to act in the event of incidents. The thesis was supervised by Prof. Sabine Cole and Prof. Mathias Rebmann, who also delivered the laudatory speech.
