Sophie Stillig was able to convince the publisher Gerhard Steidl with her specialised publication type*innen - Schriften von Frauen. She won the first STEIDL/HAWK Book Design Award including printing, production and distribution by Steidl Verlag and Fruehwerk Verlag.

Renner, Frutiger, Spiekermann, Garamond - these were the surnames of font designers who often met the master's graduate during her studies. She asked herself: Where are the font designers? Her book therefore deals with the problem of underrepresentation and the lack of visibility of font designers and their writings in the male-dominated area. She presents 80 writings by 34 women, variously prepared for designers to be inspired.
